Now available online, a new JPART virtual issue on experiments. Justin Bullock, Hal Rainey, and I edited this for the Journal. A snippet from our intro:
In the introduction to a 1992 series in this Journal on “Experimental Design in Public Management,” Barry Bozeman highlighted the key role experiments can play as public administration and public policy scholars accumulate knowledge. Since then, few researchers turned to experiments as their method of inquiry in our field. In this special edition, we gather the papers using experiments that have appeared in this journal since its inception. This special edition serves as a roadmap for those scholars interested in conducting experiments by demonstrating the viability of the method in the field of Public Administration.
